In this ATP 250 first-round clash on outdoor clay at the US Men's Clay Court Championships, No. 77 Roman Andres Burruchaga enters as the surface specialist with superior clay affinity, fresh off a Sao Paulo Challenger title last week where he outlasted Jaime Faria in three sets. No. 105 Adam Walton, primarily a hard-court player, carries a shaky 3-7 YTD record marked by straight-set losses to Luka Pavlovic in Morelia and Jakub Mensik in Miami qualifying, with limited recent clay exposure. No head-to-head exists, but Burruchaga's baseline grinding and recent momentum shape trader consensus amid Houston's typical early-April conditions, while Walton's powerful serve could test if rallies shorten.
