This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by NOAA at the Los Angeles International Airport Station in degrees Fahrenheit on 24 Aug '26. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to US Units w/ kts" button until the relevant table displays °F. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.Recent National Weather Service and private model guidance point to a hot, sunny pattern across the Los Angeles basin on August 24, 2026, driven by strong high pressure and limited marine-layer influence, with official downtown forecasts calling for highs near 92–98 °F. Coastal stations such as LAX remain cooler due to persistent onshore flow and the marine layer, which typically caps afternoon temperatures 10–15 °F below inland valleys. Model consensus favors the upper 80s to low 90s for representative downtown or basin readings, yet the market-implied odds cluster tightly around 82–85 °F, suggesting traders are weighting the risk of stronger sea-breeze cooling or slight forecast revisions that could pull the official high downward. Historical August climatology shows daily maxima averaging 84–85 °F with a standard deviation of roughly 4–5 °F, so the current distribution reflects a modest upward bias relative to normal while still leaving room for marine moderation to keep readings below 90 °F. Updated model runs and the evening NWS forecast discussion will be the next key catalysts for any shift in implied probabilities.
