Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” anchors early trader sentiment for 2027 Best Picture nominations after its July 2026 release delivered strong reviews, a high Rotten Tomatoes score, and solid box office returns, echoing the awards momentum that followed “Oppenheimer.” Studios are positioning large-scale contenders like “Dune: Part Three,” “Digger,” “Wild Horse Nine,” and “La Bola Negra” for guild and precursor attention, while fall festivals will test additional titles. Historical patterns show that critical consensus and guild nods often solidify nomination fields, though late breakthroughs or shifts in industry narrative can still reshape the race before voting closes in early 2027.
