Marc Polmans enters as the clear favorite in this Mexico City Challenger first-round clay-court clash against local wildcard Rodrigo Alujas, driven by a significant rankings gap—Polmans at No. 362 versus Alujas around No. 710—and greater Challenger-level experience. With no prior head-to-head, traders weigh Polmans' steadier recent form, including competitive showings despite a straight-sets loss to Chris Rodesch in Morelia last week, against Alujas' slump, marked by six losses in his last seven matches, most recently a 0-6, 2-6 defeat to Nicolas Mejia in San Luis Potosi. Home crowd support could boost the Mexican underdog, but Polmans' clay proficiency and baseline consistency shape the implied trader consensus.
