Current National Weather Service and ensemble model guidance points to overnight lows in the low-to-mid 60s°F for Chicago on September 11, consistent with seasonal norms near 61°F, yet the near-even split between sub-51°F and 70°F+ outcomes reflects remaining uncertainty in short-range model runs. Key differentiating factors include the strength and timing of a building high-pressure ridge, which controls radiational cooling rates, surface wind speeds that limit mixing, and dew-point depressions that influence how far temperatures drop before sunrise. With resolution hinging on official observations at major stations, traders are weighting the latest 00Z and 12Z model cycles plus any rapid updates from the National Hurricane Center or local NWS offices that could shift the diurnal minimum by several degrees.
