Apple’s first foldable iPhone, widely expected to launch as the iPhone Ultra or iPhone Fold in a book-style design, is slated for announcement at the company’s September 9, 2026 event alongside the iPhone 18 Pro models. Consistent analyst reports from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman and Ming-Chi Kuo, along with supply-chain sources, point to a starting price of $1,999–$2,500, driven by premium components including a ~7.8-inch crease-minimized inner OLED from Samsung Display, A20-series silicon, and advanced hinge engineering. Production has advanced to limited volumes with targets around 10 million units, though initial supply will be constrained. iOS 27 betas already include fold-state detection and dynamic app resizing, confirming software readiness ahead of the reveal that will set the market-implied price benchmark against Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold lineup.
