This market will resolve to "Yes" if, for any week ending after market creation and on or before December 31, 2026, the U.S. 30-year Fixed-Rate Mortgage (interest rate %) is equal to or beyond (equal to or above for ↑ HIGH rates, equal to or below for ↓ LOW rates) the listed rate, according to the Freddie Mac weekly Primary Mortgage Market Survey. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". If no data for the final week ending on or before December 31, 2026 has been published by January 14, 2027, 11:59 PM, this market will resolve based on the available data at that time. Recent CPI data showing 0.4% monthly headline gains and sticky core readings have reinforced market-implied odds of a Federal Reserve funds rate hike at the September FOMC meeting, widening spreads over policy rates. Forecasters including Fannie Mae and the Mortgage Bankers Association now project full-year 2026 averages around 6.4–6.5%, modestly higher than earlier estimates, amid fiscal concerns over $40 trillion in public debt and limited near-term relief from monetary easing. Key upcoming catalysts include the September 16–17 FOMC decision, October inflation releases, and any de-escalation signals in energy markets that could compress yields.
