Forecasts from the National Weather Service and other models indicate a high near 85°F in Chicago on September 12, driven by a warm air mass, southwest winds of 5–15 mph, and partly cloudy skies that support daytime heating without significant cloud cover or precipitation. This places the day well above the 1991–2020 average high of roughly 78°F for the date. Model consensus and current observations show limited potential for stronger warming or cooling influences, such as lake breezes or unexpected moisture, keeping the 84–85°F range as the dominant market-implied outcome at 63% while the 86–87°F bin holds secondary support. Updated model runs and afternoon observations will refine resolution as the day progresses.
