The market's concentration around 72-75°F reflects National Weather Service forecasts calling for a San Francisco high near 73°F on September 24 under partly cloudy skies and moderate west-southwest onshore flow. Recent model runs show the marine layer compressing overnight before gradual afternoon clearing, limiting warming compared to the warmer interior Bay Area while preventing full marine stratus suppression. This setup aligns with typical late-September climatology of 70-74°F highs, though small differences in wind speed, fog clearance timing, or boundary-layer mixing could shift the peak by 2-3°F. Updated NWS short-term discussions and hourly observations from downtown and SFO stations through evening will provide the key data for resolution.
