Andrey Rublev enters the Barcelona Open round of 16 with a 4-2 head-to-head advantage over Lorenzo Sonego, including a three-set win in Toronto last August, bolstering trader consensus on the fifth seed's edge on clay. Ranked No. 15, Rublev advanced comfortably in the first round after a second-round exit at Monte Carlo, leveraging his powerful baseline game suited to the surface. Sonego, No. 66, returns from a two-month wrist injury layoff—his first match back a gritty 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 win over Pedro Martinez—highlighting potential rust despite his clay-court competence. No major injury concerns reported for either, with conditions favoring steady execution amid the ATP 500's outdoor clay setup.
