Flávio Bolsonaro holds an overwhelming lead in trader consensus for second place in Brazil’s October 4 first round because recent polls consistently place him well ahead of all other non-Lula candidates. Lula da Silva, the incumbent Workers’ Party president seeking a fourth term, leads first-round surveys at 38–42 percent, while Flávio registers 31–37 percent; the remaining field—including Renan Santos, Ronaldo Caiado, and Romeu Zema—remains in single digits. Jair Bolsonaro’s endorsement of his son as the Liberal Party standard-bearer, combined with the elder Bolsonaro’s continued ineligibility, has consolidated right-wing support behind Flávio ahead of the campaign’s formal start. Minor recent tightening in runoff scenarios and isolated controversies around Flávio have not altered the first-round hierarchy reflected in polling averages.
