Augusto Cury leads trader consensus for third place in Brazil’s October 4 first round because recent polling shows the Avante candidate rising sharply to 7–11 percent after television interviews and social-media growth positioned him as a centrist outsider appealing to voters weary of polarization between Lula and Flávio Bolsonaro. Renan Santos of the Missão party trails at roughly 5–6 percent in surveys, drawing support from younger and anti-establishment voters but without matching Cury’s recent momentum. Ronaldo Caiado and lower-polling figures such as Romeu Zema remain distant, reflecting fragmented center-right support and the dominance of the two frontrunners in vote-intention data. Cury’s independent profile and late-August gains have shifted implied probabilities toward him finishing ahead of other non-major-party contenders.
