Recent National Weather Service forecasts point to a high near 77–80°F for San Francisco on September 23, with SFO Airport guidance at 80°F and downtown at 77°F under patchy morning fog followed by increasing sunshine. Trader consensus clusters tightly around 78–81°F because the cut-off low that suppressed temperatures earlier in the week is departing, allowing the marine layer to thin and onshore flow to moderate rather than dominate. Key variables differentiating the 76–83°F band include the precise depth and burn-off timing of the stratus layer, afternoon west-northwest wind speeds of 5–15 mph, and microclimate differences between coastal and bay-shore stations. Historical September warming trends after similar disturbances support the current market-implied odds while leaving room for model adjustments in the final 24-hour forecast updates.
