Persistent southerly flow and high humidity under a late-summer ridge are keeping overnight lows in Houston elevated, with official forecasts from the National Weather Service and models projecting a minimum of 78–81 °F on September 7 amid partly cloudy skies and light winds that limit radiational cooling. This pattern aligns with recent observations showing upper-70s lows persisting through early September despite scattered thunderstorms, pushing trader consensus toward the 76–79 °F range while downweighting colder outcomes that would require an unseasonal frontal passage or clearer, drier air. Updated model runs and NWS briefings through the Labor Day period continue to support these mild nighttime temperatures without significant deviation expected before resolution.
