No. 83 Hamad Medjedovic enters the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell qualifying first round on clay against No. 122 Vilius Gaubas with no head-to-head history, holding a superior 2026 ranking but mixed recent clay form including losses in Monza Challenger first round to Travaglia, Bucharest to Baez, Alicante Challenger second round to Houkes, and Murcia first round to Canas after an early 6-1 clay record. Gaubas arrives with momentum from winning the Naples Challenger title over Altmaier, though his overall 7-8 clay mark this year tempers expectations following a Marrakech first-round exit to Kopriva. Both young right-handers—Medjedovic (6-2) taller with power edge, Gaubas (5-10) agile—face mild Barcelona weather (15-22°C, sunny) and no reported injuries, making trader consensus reflect Medjedovic's experience against Gaubas' title boost in this competitive qualifier matchup.
