Recent polling for Berlin’s September 20 state election shows the AfD consistently ahead of the SPD by several points, with the far-right party at 17–19% and the Social Democrats at 12–15% across INSA, Civey, and Infratest dimap surveys. This gap reflects the SPD’s ongoing decline as the junior partner in the governing CDU–SPD coalition, compounded by national AfD momentum driven by voter concerns over immigration, economic stagnation, and dissatisfaction with mainstream parties. The AfD has registered gains in western states including Berlin, where it briefly led some July surveys for the first time, while the SPD has shown little recovery. With the election one month away and no major late shifts reported, trader consensus assigns the AfD a strong probability of securing more votes.
