Ross Smith enters the New Zealand Darts Masters opener as the clear favorite against Adam Leek, with traders assigning him 78.5% implied probability based on a substantial experience and form gap. Smith, a former European Champion, has secured multiple 2026 Players Championship titles with averages exceeding 100 in key matches and strong finishing percentages, reflecting consistent elite-level production on the PDC Tour. Leek, a 27-year-old Australian who earned his first Tour Card via 2026 Q-School, brings domestic success and home-soil motivation but limited PDC exposure, recent losing streaks, and far lower career prize money and ranking. The matchup pits a proven title winner against a debutant stepping up in class, a dynamic that historically favors established pros in World Series events unless late form shifts occur.
