This market will resolve to “Yes” if a snap election is called in Denmark between market creation and December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No.” The calling of a snap election requires the formal dissolution of the Folketing, or another formal scheduling, according to the rules of the jurisdiction, of an election for all members of the Folketing prior to their scheduled election at the end of the parliamentary term. An announcement of an intention to call an election, a failed vote of no confidence, or the collapse of the governing coalition will not by itself qualify toward a “Yes” resolution. The resolution source for this market will be official information from the government of Denmark and the Folketing; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Denmark’s new minority coalition government, formed in June 2026 after the March parliamentary election, faces no immediate confidence crisis or legislative deadlock that would prompt Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen to dissolve the Folketing before year-end. The four-party arrangement (Social Democrats, Socialist People’s Party, Moderates, and Social Liberals) secured a workable support base of roughly 82 seats plus external backing, allowing it to advance priorities such as defense spending, immigration measures, and economic policy without urgent need for a fresh mandate. Recent diplomatic progress on Greenland security arrangements has further reduced external pressures that previously influenced election timing. In Denmark’s parliamentary system, snap elections usually follow lost majorities or strategic calculations near term limits; with the current term extending to 2030, traders see little basis for an early call by December 31.
