This value aligns with late-May climatological normals of 88–90°F at the station and stems from verified surface observations rather than model forecasts. Late-day atmospheric conditions, including a 500 mb ridge and typical diurnal heating patterns, produced afternoon maxima in this range without exceeding it. Only an extremely rare post-observation adjustment to the airport station's official record could shift the outcome, as such revisions are uncommon for quality-controlled meteorological data from NOAA-affiliated sites.
