Chris Rodesch, the No. 3 seed ranked No. 142, holds trader consensus edge over qualifier Franco Agamenone (No. 282) in this Madrid Challenger clay-court opener, reflecting Rodesch's recent momentum from a Morelia Challenger quarterfinal run and career-high ranking earlier this year. Agamenone, a 32-year-old Italian clay veteran, earned his spot by defeating Michael Vrbensky and Stefan Palosi in qualifying but enters off a first-round loss to Alejandro Moro Canas in Menorca last week. With no head-to-head history, stylistic matchup favors Rodesch's powerful game against Agamenone's grinding baseline play, though the veteran's surface affinity and fresh legs from qualies add upset potential amid mild Madrid weather and no reported injuries.
