The qualifier (WR84) capitalized on momentum from topping his group and a straight-sets R16 win over Izaac Quek, outlasting Uda—who advanced past Lam Siu Hang (R32) and Sun Yang (R16)—in a five-game thriller (12-10, 2-11, 11-8, 9-11, 11-5). Uda's recent uneven form against top Japanese peers factored into the tight contest, but Yoshimura's consistency prevailed. With the outcome finalized per WTT rules, no realistic reversal scenarios remain barring an unprecedented official protest.
