In the ATP Challenger Mexico City quarterfinals on outdoor hard courts, Mexican wild card Alex Hernandez (ATP 492) faces qualifier Tibo Colson (ATP 500) following their recent head-to-head clash three weeks ago, where Hernandez dominated 6-4, 6-0 at the Morelos Challenger on hard. Both advanced yesterday with hard-fought three-set victories in the round of 16—Hernandez edging seeded Juan Pablo Ficovich 7-5, 4-6, 6-4 after upsetting Karl Poling in the round of 32, while Colson stunned higher-ranked Nicolas Mejia 7-5, 6-3 following a comeback win over Miguel Tobon. Hernandez benefits from home crowd support and momentum, but Colson's qualifier resilience and upset form signal a competitive battle with trader consensus implied probabilities reflecting the tight matchup dynamics.
