Arthur Rinderknech holds a commanding 3-0 head-to-head edge over Alex Michelsen entering their first-round BMW Open clash on Munich's clay courts April 13, with prior wins including a straight-sets triumph in Shanghai last October. The No. 27-ranked Frenchman's recent clay exposure includes a gritty three-set second-round defeat to Joao Fonseca in Monte-Carlo last weekend, showcasing his baseline resilience and lefty serve despite the loss. No. 35 Michelsen, meanwhile, built momentum by snapping a year-long ATP clay drought with straight-sets opening wins over Learner Tien and Coleman Wong at Houston's U.S. Men's Clay Court Championship early this month before exiting. No reported injuries or withdrawals shape trader consensus around Rinderknech's ranking and surface familiarity versus Michelsen's improving clay adaptation and aggressive baseline game.
