Cheryl Fuller holds a strong lead in the Central Coast Council mayoral race as the incumbent seeking a second term, with limited announced opposition shaping trader positioning ahead of the October local government elections. Reports from mid-2026 indicate no strong challengers have emerged from within the council, though external candidates remain possible. Garry Carpenter, her 2022 opponent, has signaled uncertainty about running again due to personal commitments. Fuller has emphasized priorities such as strengthening council finances, while several councillors focus on deputy mayoral bids. This lack of competitive pressure supports the current implied probabilities, though the field could shift if new entrants declare closer to the ballot deadline.
