Recent National Weather Service forecasts for Chicago on September 12 point to mostly sunny skies with southwest winds of 5-10 mph, supporting a daytime high near 84°F and aligning with the market's leading 84-85°F outcome at 51% implied probability. Model consensus from recent runs shows limited variability, with only modest warming potential from humid conditions or slight steering shifts that could push readings into the 86-87°F range (27%). This positioning reflects typical late-summer patterns before a cooler front arrives Sunday, though forecast uncertainty remains as new observational data or model updates could adjust the exact peak by a degree or two. Historical averages near 78°F underscore the above-normal warmth currently priced in by traders.
