Recent National Weather Service and ensemble model guidance points to a high temperature in the upper 70s to low 80s for New York City on September 16, driven by partly cloudy skies, light southwesterly flow, and the absence of strong warm advection or frontal passages. This setup aligns with late-summer climatology near the 76°F historical average high while allowing modest daytime warming under mostly clear to scattered cloud conditions. Lower probabilities for 84°F or higher reflect limited moisture and weak pressure gradients that reduce the chance of significant heat buildup, whereas colder bins remain unlikely absent an unexpected northerly surge. Updated model runs and National Weather Service briefings in the next 24–48 hours will refine the exact maximum and directly influence trader positioning ahead of market resolution.
