The race for second place in Santa Catarina’s October 2026 Senate contest remains tightly balanced due to Brazil’s dual-vote system for the state’s two seats and a crowded field of 13 registered candidates. Recent polling shows PL’s Carol de Toni and Carlos Bolsonaro frequently occupying the top two spots in consolidated vote scenarios, with Esperidião Amin (PP), Décio Lima (PT), and smaller-party names such as Marcos Dorval and Joaninha de Oliveira trailing in the low-to-mid 20s or below. Party conventions concluded in early August and official registration closed on August 15, locking in the lineup without major last-minute shifts. Trader consensus reflected in current prices therefore hinges on how first-preference votes split between the PL duo and opposition challengers, plus turnout patterns among conservative and center-right voters. Any late consolidation behind a single non-PL contender or a stronger-than-expected PT performance could widen gaps among the 18–27 percent tier before election day.
