Recent official forecasts from the Finnish Meteorological Institute and supporting models such as ECMWF and GFS indicate a daily maximum of 15–16°C in Helsinki on September 18, driven by persistent cloud cover, widespread rain, and moderate southwest winds around 10 m/s that limit daytime heating. This aligns with climatological norms for mid-September and explains the market’s heavy weighting toward 16°C (61%) and 15°C (38%). Minor model spreads around peak values create the small probability for 17°C, while cooler outcomes remain unlikely absent an unexpected cold-air intrusion. Updated guidance overnight or early on the 18th will provide the final observational data for market resolution.
