Current ensemble forecasts from the National Weather Service and GFS models indicate limited overnight radiational cooling under a warm, humid southerly flow with scattered thunderstorms and cloud cover, positioning the 78-79°F range as the leading market-implied outcome at 41.5% for Atlanta’s daily minimum on August 27. This aligns with recent observations of persistent high dew points and weak pressure gradients across the Southeast that suppress typical nocturnal drops. Late-August climatology shows average lows near 71°F, yet model consensus clusters probabilities around 70-75°F bins amid forecast uncertainty in exact timing of any clearing. Traders will monitor updated NWS guidance and local mesonet data for shifts before resolution.
