Recent National Weather Service and model guidance indicate Houston will see a typical late-summer pattern on September 3, with overnight lows likely settling in the upper 70s amid high humidity, light southeast winds, and variable cloud cover from scattered afternoon thunderstorms. These factors limit radiational cooling, keeping minimum temperatures from dropping toward seasonal averages near 75°F. Trader consensus remains closely split across bins near 78–81°F and higher because small shifts in cloud timing, rainfall, or wind direction can alter the exact overnight minimum by a degree or two, while no strong cold front or tropical influence is expected to drive sharper cooling. Updated model runs and official forecast discussions will provide the next key data points before resolution.
