Safe Superintelligence Inc. (SSI), founded by former OpenAI chief scientist Ilya Sutskever, continues its deliberate “straight-shot” strategy of pursuing only a safe superintelligence without intermediate large language model releases, papers, or demos after more than two years of operation. Recent external speculation from investor Gavin Baker suggesting a possible August 2026 debut has fueled trader discussion, yet SSI’s own site and public posture reinforce a single-product roadmap focused on alignment over capability demonstrations or commercial APIs. A July 2026 long-term Nvidia partnership expanding access to advanced GPU platforms signals scaled research infrastructure but no shift toward public model timelines. Competitive pressure from faster-releasing labs like OpenAI and Anthropic, alongside typical AI development delays, keeps market-implied odds sensitive to any official statement or credible reporting on internal progress.

A qualifying model must be an AI model released by SSI or associated with SSI and confirmed as such by SSI or by a consensus of credible reporting.
For this market to resolve to "Yes," a qualifying model must be launched and publicly accessible, including via open beta or open rolling waitlist signups. A closed beta or any form of private access will not suffice.
The release must be either clearly defined and publicly announced by SSI as being accessible to the general public or otherwise made publicly accessible and explicitly labeled within the company’s official website. Labeling errors, placeholder text, or version names displayed on the website that do not correspond to a model that is actually accessible to the general public will not qualify.
The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from SSI; however, a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.
