Maria Sakkari enters as a heavy favorite in her Miami Open second-round clash with Dalma Galfi, backed by trader consensus reflecting her world No. 9 ranking, prior 6-1, 6-4 win over Galfi in 2022, and dominant hard-court game. Sakkari cruised past Ana Bogdan 6-4, 6-0 in the opener, showcasing baseline power despite a uneven 2024 season with early exits in Dubai and Indian Wells. Galfi, ranked No. 106, impressed by qualifying and upsetting Caty McNally 7-5, 7-6(5), riding momentum from recent ITF titles, but faces a steep test against Sakkari's serve and athleticism on these outdoor hard courts, where upsets remain possible amid variable conditions.
