Recent polls ahead of the September 20 Berlin Abgeordnetenhaus election show a narrow contest for second place, with the Linke, CDU, and AfD clustered in the high teens to low twenties and the Greens not far behind. This positioning stems from voter fragmentation that has lifted the Linke and AfD while eroding support for the governing CDU-SPD coalition, alongside stable but lower Green numbers. Traders price the CDU highest for second because it remains competitive for first in several surveys and benefits from established organizational strength, though small polling margins and undecided voters leave room for shifts in final turnout or late campaign momentum. The Greens and SPD trail due to weaker recent results and limited coalition upside in current projections.
