This market will resolve according to the person appointed as the next permanent manager of SL Benfica. If no permanent manager is appointed by August 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other." Appointments of 'interim,' 'caretaker,' or other non-permanent managers will not impact this market's resolution. An announcement of a new permanent manager's appointment before this market's close date will immediately resolve this market to the corresponding option, regardless of when the announced appointment goes into effect. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from SL Benfica; however, a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.Marco Silva's appointment as Benfica's new head coach has driven near-certain trader consensus, following José Mourinho's confirmed exit to Real Madrid in early June 2026. Benfica formalized the deal on a two-year contract with an option for a further season, bringing the Portuguese manager back to the Primeira Liga after five years at Fulham. Recent reports highlight Silva's agreement with club president Rui Costa and sporting director Mário Branco, positioning him to lead the squad into Europa League qualifiers. Other listed candidates hold only residual probabilities because the role is now filled, with no active speculation around alternatives like Antonio Conte or Thomas Frank. Late contract complications or an unexpected withdrawal remain the only realistic paths that could shift resolution, though official announcements indicate the transition is complete.
