Elite GMs such as Hikaru Nakamura (most career wins), Magnus Carlsen, Alireza Firouzja, Alexey Sarana, and Jan-Krzysztof Duda consistently dominate the top spots due to superior speed, preparation, and recent form. Firouzja captured the July 28 edition with 9.5/11, following strong showings by other top seeds in prior weeks. Field strength on August 11 will hinge on confirmed entries from these regulars and any scheduling conflicts with events like the Sinquefield Cup; higher participation from the world’s highest-rated blitz players narrows realistic paths to the top three while increasing variance from upsets or pairings.
