The 2026 Košice mayoral election is currently scheduled to be held on October 24, 2026. This market will resolve according to the candidate who becomes the next Mayor of Košice as a result of this election. Temporary, interim, or placeholder mayors appointed before the election will not be considered. If the result of this election isn't known by March 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". This market will resolve based on the results of this election, as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve solely based on official results as reported by government sources of Košice, Košice Region and Slovakia, including the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic (https://volby.statistics.sk/).The Košice mayoral race remains tightly contested ahead of the October 24, 2026, municipal elections, with recent polling from July and August showing the top three contenders—incumbent Jaroslav Polaček, Ladislav Lörinc, and Martin Mudrák—separated by just 2–3 percentage points amid eight registered candidates. Polaček draws on his incumbency and coalition backing to highlight completed infrastructure and investment projects, while Lörinc, a borough mayor, emphasizes local service delivery and everyday issues. Mudrák, backed by Progressive Slovakia and allies, campaigns on cross-party cooperation to address transport, parking, and governance friction. Lenka Kovačevičová and lower-polling independents further fragment support. This multi-candidate dynamic, combined with stable but narrow polling margins and no decisive late-campaign shifts, sustains trader consensus around even odds for frontrunners and limited separation among the broader field.
