Recent Met Office and European model runs indicate London’s overnight low on September 23 will likely settle between 12–16 °C under partly cloudy skies and light northerly winds, supporting the market’s heaviest trading around 15–16 °C. Clear conditions overnight have allowed efficient radiational cooling after daytime highs near 23–24 °C, while the absence of strong southerly flow or cloud cover has prevented warmer minima. Historical September averages place the typical daily minimum near 12–13 °C, so current readings sit slightly above normal yet remain consistent with the observed recent trend of mild nights. Updated guidance from the Met Office and ECMWF later today will refine the exact minimum before market resolution.
