Official forecasts from the National Weather Service place Seattle’s overnight low near 55°F on September 12, driven by persistent cloud cover and light northerly winds that limit radiational cooling under marine-influenced conditions. Model consensus shows minimal overnight drop from early-morning readings around 57–58°F, with any clearing or southerly shift arriving too late to produce deeper cooling. This supports the near-even market split between the 52–53°F and 54–55°F bins, while probabilities assigned to 47°F or below reflect residual uncertainty in exact minimum timing and localized sensor readings at Sea-Tac. Historical September 12 lows average 53.7°F, providing context for current trader focus on subtle forecast adjustments.
