Traders reacted sharply to lighter Q3 revenue guidance (midpoint $62.5 billion versus analyst expectations near $63.2 billion) and sustained high capital expenditures of $130–145 billion for AI infrastructure, which compressed free cash flow to $784 million. The stock sold off nearly 9% post-earnings before stabilizing near $590 by August 7, reflecting ongoing pressure on margins despite ad-revenue strength. With the next earnings report scheduled for October 28, sentiment remains sensitive to AI spending trajectories, monetization trends, and any further regulatory developments.
