Incumbent Republican Andrew Clyde secured his party's nomination outright in the May 2026 primary with 76% of the vote in Georgia's 9th congressional district, setting up a general election matchup against Democrat Caitlyn Gegen. The northeast Georgia district carries a strong Republican tilt, reflected in its Solid R or Safe R ratings from outlets including the Cook Political Report and Sabato's Crystal Ball, plus Clyde's 69% reelection margin in 2024. Forecasters cite the area's consistent partisan voting patterns and the incumbent's established fundraising advantage as primary drivers of the current trader consensus. Late developments that could narrow the gap remain limited to unforeseen national shifts, candidate-specific issues, or unusually high Democratic turnout, though structural barriers make such outcomes improbable.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
