Current National Weather Service and model guidance from sources like the GFS point to a minimum temperature near 76–78°F in Austin on September 7, driven by persistent southerly flow, high dew points near 70°F, and limited nocturnal radiational cooling under partly cloudy skies. This aligns with the broader late-summer pattern of above-normal warmth across central Texas amid delayed frontal passages. Trader odds favoring 86°F or higher reflect uncertainty over potential model shifts or localized urban heat effects before the 48-hour window closes, while clustered probabilities in the low-to-mid 70s capture consensus on typical September minima around 70°F. Forecasters expect final guidance updates within the next day that could refine wind and cloud trends.
