The 2026 Martin mayoral election is currently scheduled to be held on October 24, 2026. This market will resolve according to the candidate who becomes the next Mayor of Martin as a result of this election. Temporary, interim, or placeholder mayors appointed before the election will not be considered. If the result of this election isn't known by March 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". This market will resolve based on the results of this election, as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve solely based on official results as reported by government sources of Martin, Žilina Region and Slovakia, including the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic (https://volby.statistics.sk/).The Martin mayoral race remains tightly contested ahead of Slovakia’s October 24 municipal elections, with Jozef Petráš holding a narrow lead in trader pricing over Milan Ftorek, Michal Uherčík, and incumbent Ján Danko. A crowded field of independents and party-backed challengers, including recent entrants like Igor Hubáček and Renáta Habrunová, has prevented any candidate from consolidating support. Danko’s delayed confirmation of a third term and calls for opposition coordination have added uncertainty, while local priorities such as city finances, parking policy, infrastructure projects, and university hospital development continue to define the contest without producing a decisive shift. Final candidate lists closed in late August, leaving limited time for differentiation before voting.
