The open mayoral race in Oldenburg, Germany, features a record field of nine candidates following incumbent Jürgen Krogmann’s decision not to seek an additional eight-year term ending in October 2026. The September 13 election (with a possible September 27 runoff) pits SPD nominee and state legislator Ulf Prange against independent candidate Jascha Rohr, who secured joint backing from the Greens and CDU after his July 2025 nomination. Remaining contenders from smaller parties and independents hold minimal support. Trader pricing reflects a closely balanced contest shaped by the absence of an incumbent advantage, cross-party consolidation behind Rohr, and standard SPD organizational strength in the city, with limited late-cycle developments to shift momentum ahead of the vote.
