The rubber match of a 1-1 series at Yankee Stadium pits Angels right-hander Jack Kochanowicz (2-0, 3.24 ERA) against struggling Yankees counterpart Luis Gil (0-1, 6.75 ERA), with Los Angeles holding momentum from yesterday's 7-1 blowout win following New York's 11-10 walk-off victory in the April 13 opener powered by Aaron Judge and Trent Grisham homers offsetting Mike Trout's two blasts. Both clubs hover around .500 (Angels 9-9, Yankees 9-8), hampered by pitching injuries—New York without Gerrit Cole, Carlos Rodon, and shortstop Anthony Volpe; Angels missing relievers Ben Joyce and Ryan Johnson—yet Judge (6 HR) and Trout (5 HR) loom as home run threats amid the Yankees' stronger 2.99 team ERA and home-field edge in mild 76°F conditions.
