Pittsburgh Pirates hold trader consensus favoritism into their April 15 home matchup against the Washington Nationals at PNC Park, driven by a scorching 10-6 start including a 5-2 home record and a dominant 16-5 series-opening rout on April 13 behind Paul Skenes' gem and a 10-run explosion. The Pirates' staff boasts a stingy 3.34 team ERA, contrasting the Nationals' leaky 5.86 runs allowed per game amid key pitching absences on the injured list like Josiah Gray, Trevor Williams, and DJ Herz. Jake Irvin (1-1, 7.07 ERA) takes the mound for Washington against Pittsburgh's probable starter, while hot-hitting James Wood—fresh off NL Player of the Week honors—provides offensive spark for the 7-9 visitors, though Pittsburgh's momentum and home-field edge loom large.
