Jo-Yee Chan, a recent college standout from San Diego State with strong 2025-26 singles and doubles records, faces Alina Shcherbinina in the ITF W15 San Diego main draw on July 3. Shcherbinina enters with a WTA ranking near 846 and an impressive 12-2 recent record, including multiple wins in the San Diego event against players like Caroline Driscoll. Chan’s recent ITF results show mixed outcomes on hard courts, with competitive early-round wins but losses to higher-ranked opponents. The matchup pits Shcherbinina’s professional experience and current form against Chan’s home-tournament familiarity and college-level momentum, with surface conditions and early-round fatigue as key variables in this lower-tier women’s event.
