In the WTA 125 Oeiras Jamor Ladies Open on clay, No. 4 seed Moyuka Uchijima (world No. 86) faced qualifier Carol Young Suh Lee (No. 169) in the round of 32, with trader consensus likely favoring Uchijima's superior ranking and experience despite her recent Billie Jean King Cup singles loss to Elisabetta Cocciaretto on April 10. Lee entered with momentum from straight-sets qualifier wins over Gabriela Agra Amorim and Mia Ristic, showcasing strong clay form early in the European swing. No prior head-to-head exists; Uchijima's WTA clay record stands at 7-8, while Lee's lower-level success highlights upset potential amid mild, dry conditions in Portugal. Key watch: serve efficiency and break-point conversion on the slower surface.
