Arthur Rinderknech enters the BMW Open first-round clash with Alex Michelsen holding a perfect 3-0 head-to-head record, including a straight-sets win in Shanghai last October, fueling trader sentiment on his edge in direct matchups. The No. 27-ranked Frenchman's recent clay momentum stems from a notable 7-5, 6-2 upset over Karen Khachanov at Monte-Carlo Masters before a third-round loss to Joao Fonseca four days ago. No. 35 seed Michelsen, 21, broke a year-long ATP clay drought with a 6-4, 6-2 Houston opener but fell 6-0, 4-6, 6-1 to Alexei Popyrin next. On Munich's slower clay surface, Rinderknech's experience tempers Michelsen's aggressive baseline play in this closely contested ATP 250 encounter.
