Jannik Sinner holds a commanding 4-2 head-to-head edge over Felix Auger-Aliassime, including victories in their last four meetings across ATP Masters 1000 and Grand Slam events, fueling trader consensus toward the world No. 2 as the clay-court quarterfinal favorite at the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters. Sinner advanced past Tomas Machac yesterday, snapping his 37-set winning streak at Masters events with a second-set tiebreak loss before surging 6-2 in the decider amid admitted physical struggles. Auger-Aliassime, seeded No. 6, notched his first Monte Carlo quarterfinal via Casper Ruud's leg injury retirement at 7-5, 2-2, building on a 2-0 clay record this week despite prior shoulder concerns; his defensive movement suits the slower surface, but Sinner's baseline power and improving clay form pose key tests ahead of potential semifinals.
