Polymarket trader consensus, backed by real capital at stake, assigns a 67% implied probability to Eurozone 2026 annual HICP inflation exceeding 3.1%, with 36% on 2.8-3.0%, driven by March's headline rate surging to 2.5% year-over-year from February's 1.9% amid soaring energy costs tied to the Iran war's oil supply disruptions via the Strait of Hormuz. ECB staff March projections lifted the 2026 average forecast to 2.6%—with Q2 peaking at 3.1%—citing persistent pressures, while core HICP hovers near 2.5%. Sticky services inflation and wage dynamics amplify second-round effects, though final March data today and the April flash estimate will shape near-term revisions ahead of ECB meetings.
